Bert van Son is a social entrepreneur and circular denim pioneer, who founded MUD Jeans in 2012, the first and only circular jeans company in the world.
With over 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, he created the innovative Lease-A-Jeans concept, which allows customers to rent and return jeans, reducing waste and saving resources. MUD Jeans is a certified B Corp and has won multiple awards, including the Koning Willem 1 Plaquette and Bert is the Circular Hero of the year 2023 by the ministry of I&W.
As the founder and spokesman of MUD Jeans, Bert van Son is passionate about spreading the message of circular economy and sustainable fashion. He has been a keynote speaker at various occasions, such as TEDx, COP21, and Sustainable Brands.
He also has a diverse and multicultural background, having worked and lived in Taiwan, Hong Kong, France, and Belgium. He believes that people should take more responsibility for their behavior and growth, and that anything is possible with the willingness to change.
