Anouk Zeeuw van der Laan

Anouk works with academia and companies to design and implement systems solutions for a circular economy.

Anouk positions resource flows at the centre of design and uses systems thinking to collaboratively design socio-technical systems for a circular economy. Her consultancy work focuses on the real-world implementation of solutions such as rental, reuse and recycling. Together with her clients, she realises circular business models, material innovation and human behaviour interventions.

Anouk is a design engineer with a background in material-driven design and the FMCG sector. In her PhD she worked closely with Procter & Gamble to develop methods and frameworks that support the holistic design of reuse and recycling systems for a circular economy. Before starting her independent consultancy practice, Anouk was the Head of Circular Economy at Common Seas. Besides her consultancy work, Anouk teaches at Imperial College London and University of the Arts London; and is developing a tool called the Flow Mapper.
