Chukwumaobi Ibe

I am an enthusiastic Ph.D. researcher and graduate teaching assistant at Sheffield Hallam University's Department of Natural and Built Environment.

With a profound commitment to sustainable development, my research revolves around repurposing construction waste to reduce the environmental impact of building materials. Leveraging innovative digital technologies, particularly image-BIM deconstruction, I specialize in creating 3D models of structures from photographs to optimize the recovery of reusable and recyclable components, thus advancing the cause of sustainable construction.

Beyond academia, my engagement spans a range of impactful global initiatives. I have played pivotal roles in renowned organizations like UNICEF, OXFAM, and the African Economic Congress, driving projects aligned with the United Nations SDGs. As the International Relations Manager for AIESEC Italy, I foster cross-cultural collaboration, while my passion for education is evident in my dedication to introducing STEM skill development initiatives to students of all ages. In essence, my journey revolves around the nexus of academia, community empowerment, and sustainable development.
