Izzie Eriksen

Izzie Eriksen is the Managing Director of ApparelXchange, a social circular enterprise based in Glasgow. Focusing on school aged children’s clothing, Izzie’s visionary approach to solving economic, environmental and social problems has accumulated into a Clothing System for young people for a city. And her current efforts are focused to achieving this model which can be replicated across other cities and towns.

Izzie’s career started in community development, recycling and composting education and as a graduate Zoologist is motivated to protect and conserve planet earth’s natural capital in such a way as to restore its habitats and improve biodiversity.
Her belief is that “knowledge is empowerment” and as such, people from a very young age can make informed consumer choices which reduce our impacts, slow down climate change and make the world a better place for all.

Prior to this she worked for Zero Waste Scotland for over 12 years developing and delivering on policy interventions for Scottish Government. Concentrating on reuse, remanufacturing and towards the end of this period extended producer responsibility.
