Sophie Thomas FCIWM

Sophie is Founder and CTO of etsaW Ventures, Director of CE at Useful Projects and Founder of Thomas.Matthews. She is an honorary fellow at UAL, holds numerous board and forum positions within circularity including WRAP UK, Defra and CIWM, and judges and evaluates numerous circular, design and material based commercial competitions across the globe.

Sophie brings decades of experience in sustainability and circular economy design and strategy. Over her professional career she has worked with multinational corporations and small start-ups, helping to generate ideas and navigate validation to success. Sophie devised and led the RSA Great Recovery Programme raising £35m with IUK for circular business innovation. She brings expertise in waste and carbon data analysis with specific understanding around system design.
